The 3rd Ranger Battalion was organized on 19 June 1943 in Morocco after the 1st Ranger Bn's impressive performance in the Northern Africa campaign.
Hence the design of the Palm Tree and Diamond, which is not period correct but pays homage to the Rangers of WWII.
